As we read or write in realtime
absorbing other peoples stories, or telling our own
we are manifesting the deep linguistic, categorization skills
conditioned into us since we popped out into the world
…skills which necessarily divide a wholistic, undivided reality
into an abstract parts which populate our mental model of it
When we speak or write
we have habituated this most amazing skill
of dividing the world into shared categories
noun categories, adjective categories, verb categories, adverb categories, preposition categories, article categories and conjunction categories
and selecting from elements belonging to each category in realtime
to express a story
When we listen or read
we have habituated this most amazing skill
of again dividing the world into shared categories
and performing realtime categorization
of word elements that we hear or read in a linear sequence
to hear the story of others
and when we think
we have also habituated this most amazing skill
of dividing the world into shared categories
and selecting word elements belonging to each category in realtime
to tell OURSELVES a story
Like adults who drive a car
adults who have learned language “properly”
have to have deeply automated and habituated
the dividing behavior of language
and become linguistic automatons
…a process that takes decades to achieve
but once achieved
becomes effortless
Modern culture is critically dependent on language
and we cannot derive any benefits from it
Without proficient language training
we become a language outcast
Yet this skill
so necessary in any modern culture
is one that rails against the state of pure being
a state which is at once our most comfortable one
and one we are strangely alienated from
This most amazing state is our unconditioned, unlearned and spontaneous manifestation as human beings
with bodies and their countless functions
operating independently of even a single conscious thought
and even these very thoughts
distilled in expressions of these words
flowing out spontaneously without effort
Our spontaneous sustenance and appearance in this world
along with any and all other spontaneously arising appearances we can witness
are both pure creations of the unifying creative, universal principle
Though we use these cleaving symbols
to chop and dice the world up
into new stories about itself
there isn’t anything that we FUNDAMENTALLY change
Just as within a gravitational field
kinetic energy of an object cannot manifest
unless there is some kind of potential energy released
so too in all our science that comes out of symbolic analysis of nature
that apparently creates new wonderful technologies
there is really nothing new
…just combinations and configurations that were always potential, always possible
A new chemical compound or material that has amazing properties
may be new to the human species
but it’s potential has always been there in nature
waiting for humans to discover patterns hitherto hidden from minds
All appearances arise equally,
both ourselves and others
in the field of creation of the universal principle of creativity
Even the apparent travesty of words and thoughts that divide the whole
arise as appearances that are equal and spontaneously democratic
within the field of pure, unstained awareness
